Zusammenfassung Anlässlich des 30. Geburtstags der erstmals 1994 veröffentlichten Unidroit Principles of International Commercial Contracts fasst dieser Beitrag ihre in weltweiter Praxis erprobte Doppelrolle zusammen (neben der Beeinflussung von nationalen Gesetzgebern): Als wählbare Rechtsregel, am besten in Kombination mit einer Schiedsklausel (Simplified Global Contracting), und als Auslegungshilfe für nationales Recht aufgrund ihrer Qualität als allgemeine Rechtsprinzipien des internationalen Vertragsrechts.
