Abstract
A conference was held in the University of Sheffield on 18–20 April 1966 to discuss conduction phenomena in solids where the mean free path is very short. The meeting covered theoretical and experimental aspects in a wide range of materials, which included transition metal oxides, ferrites, amorphous semiconductors and molecular crystals. Introduction Conduction mechanisms in metals and conventional semiconductors have been the subject of numerous conferences and are well understood.
