Abstract

A method for improving systematically the Holtsmark distribution is described. It is based on a cluster-type expansion and takes into account increasing orders of correlation. In this paper, it is applied to the calculation of the distribution of the high-frequency component of the electric field in an ionized gas in thermal equilibrium.
