Abstract

Previously determined absolute cross sections for the Ni61(O16,3n)Kr74 reactions are found to be incorrect due to errors in the published level structure of Kr74. New information on the β-decay of Kr74 has permitted upper limits on the Ni61(O16,3n)Kr74 cross sections to be established. These are in agreement with cross sections calculated for statistical evaporation of particles from a compound nucleus.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Ni61(O16,3n)Kr74, E16O=38.551.0 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ; deduced σ(E).
