Abstract
The systematics of the positive-parity states in 194–208Po are studied within the framework of the Particle-Core Model. The wavefunctions of the 2 12 states have been extracted using the Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation. The increase in the collective motion comes from the increased proton-neutron interaction when both particles occupy high-j orbitals
