Abstract

We report new measurements of the asymmetry in the deep-inelastic scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons by longitudinally polarized protons in the kinematic range $2 <~ ω <~ 10$ , $1 <~ Q^{2} <~ 4$ ${(G e V / c)}^{2}$ , and $2 <~ W <~ 4$ GeV. We compare our results with the Bjorken sum rule and with several theoretical models of the internal spin structure of the proton.
