Abstract
A unique earthquake sequence began in Meløy, Northern Norway, in November 1978, and 10 weeks later about 10,000 shocks had been recorded from a volume not larger than 10×8×6 km3. The largest earthquake occurred on 28 November, 1978, with an ML magnitude of 3.2 and a maximum MM intensity of VI.
