Summary
The propagation of Love waves in water-saturated soil overlying a non-homogeneous elastic medium has been investigated in the present paper. The solution of the problem is evaluated with the help of Fourier transform technique. It has been found that the velocity of body wave depends on the direction of propagation, and the velocity of Love wave depends on the porosity of the layer and the non-homogeneity character of the medium as well. Further, the effect of porosity and heterogeneity has been shown graphically.
