Acta Metallurgica Slovaca (p-ISSN 1335-1532, e-ISSN 1338-1156, EV 8/22/EPP) is a fully OPEN ACCESS (OA).

  1. Open Access – when an article is accepted for publication, the author/s or funder/s pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). The final version of the published article is then free to read for everyone.

The main focus and journal scope is: Metallurgy and Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, Metals and Alloys.

Journal Acta Metallurgica Slovaca is publishing 4 times per year.

Fees and Charges, Article processing charges (APC):

Authors who publish open access in Acta Metallurgica Slovaca are required to pay an article processing charge (APC). The APC price will be determined from the date on which the article is accepted for publication.

The current APC, subject to VAT or local taxes where applicable, is:

€1200.00

Invoices are emailed shortly after acceptance to the payment contact provided by the authors. Only official invoices issued by Editor (editor@journal-ams.org) are valid. We do not authorize any third party to collect the APCs. Acta Metallurgica Slovaca is the sole service provider and cannot be held liable for actions by third parties.

Article types

Research papers:

These should describe new and carefully confirmed findings, and experimental procedures should be given in sufficient detail for others to verify the work. The length of a full paper should be the minimum required to describe and interpret the work clearly.

Technical papers:

A Short Communication is suitable for recording the results of complete small investigations or, for giving details of new models or hypotheses, innovative methods, techniques or apparatus. The style of main sections does not need to conform to that of full-length papers. Short communications are limited with 1000 words approximately.

Reviews:

Submissions of reviews and perspectives covering topics of current interest are welcome and encouraged. Reviews should be concise, but are non-limited. Review manuscripts are also peer-reviewed.
