    Description / Table of Contents: übersicht Vorgestellt wird die Methode und eine entsprechende numerische Prozedur der StabilitÄtsanalyse des Einspielvorgangs, die geometrisch nichtlineare Effekte und beliebige Formen der Verfestigung berücksichtigt. Die numerischen Ergebnisse illustrieren die Unterschiede zwischen den Einflüssen der isotropen und kinematischen Verfestigung und zeigen, da\ man drei Sorten von Shakedown-Prozessen unterscheiden kann: den monotonen, den alternierenden und den gemischten.
    Notes: Summary The paper presents a method of stability analysis of shakedown processes taking into account non-linear geometrical effects as well as any non-linear strainhardening rule. The numerical analysis of plane frames performed in the paper shows different influences of isotropic and kinematic hardening and allows to distinguish three types of shakedown processes: monotonous, alternated and mixed ones.

    Notes: Abstract The sensitivity of optimal plastic design with respect to geometric imperfections and post-critical deformations is discussed. It is shown that the concept of optimal plastic design should be modified in order to provide a proper safety factor against collapse for a specified range of imperfections and configuration changes. The optimal design of two-story frames is analysed in detail.

    Notes: Abstract This paper proposes a unified formulation of reliability-based limit state optimization problems for discrete structures. Two approaches are presented: neglecting and accounting for nonlinear geometric effects at the limit state. For discrete structures, the classical limit state problem may be defined as a linear program, whereas the limit state problem accounting for geometric effects is considered as a two-level linear program. A portal frame example is considered in detail. Results of deterministic- and reliability-based optimization are compared. In both cases the impact on structural safety due to neglecting geometric effects is discussed.
