    Notizen: Abstract An abrupt damage model, taking full account of finite geometrychanges, is used to study both the shapes of damage zones and the stress strain fields for a plane-strain tensile crack under the small-scale yielding condition. Two typical crack-tip damage profiles are simulated by the element vanish technique. The fracture toughness increment due to damage dissipation is evaluated in terms of the energy release rate.

    Notizen: Abstract Coupled atomistic/dislocation/continuum simulation of interfacial fracture is performed in this paper. The model consists of a nanoscopic core made by atomistic assembly and a surrounding elastic continuum with discrete dislocations. Atomistic dislocations nucleate from the crack tip and move to the continuum layer where they glide according to the dislocation dynamics curve. An atoms/continuum averlapping belt is devised to facilitate the transition between the two scales. The continuum constraint on the atomic assembly is imposed through the mechanics atmosphere along the overlapping belt. Transmissions of mechanics parameters such as displacements, stresses, masses and momenta across the belt are realized. The present model allows us to explore interfacial fracture processes under different mode mixity. The effect of atomistic zigzag interface on the fracture process is revealed: it hinders dislocation emission from the crack tip, especially under high mode mixity.

    Notizen: Abstract An evolving material structure is in a non-equilibrium state, with free energy expressed by the generalized coordinates. A global approach leads to robust computations for the generalized thermodynamic forces. Those forces drive various kinetic processes, causing dissipation at spots, along curves, surfaces and interfaces, and within volumetric regions. The actual evolution path, and therefore the final equilibrium state, is determined by the energetics and kinetics. A virtual work principle links the free energy landscape and the kinetic processes, and assigns a viscous environment to every point on the landscape. The approach leads to a dynamical system that governs the evolution of generalized coordinates. The microstructural evolution is globally characterized by a basin map in the coordinate space; and by a diversity map and a variety map in the parameter space. The control of basin boundaries raises the issue of energetic and kinetic bifurcations. The variation of basin boundaries under different sets of controlling parameters provides an analytical way to plot the diversity maps of structural evolution.

    Notizen: Abstract An experimental study of the inelastic behavior of annealed aluminum alloy 6061-T6 tubular specimens subjected to combined axial and torsional stress cycles is presented. Particular attention is paid to the question of how plastic strain is developed and how the yield surface moves along the 90-deg out-of-phase stress cycle. Experimental results agree qualitatively with the predictions of the two-surface plasticity theory.

    Notizen: Abstract In order to make the numerical calculation of viscous flows more convenient for the flows in channel with complicated profile governing equations expressed in the arbitrary curvilinear coordinates were derived by means of Favre density- weighted averaged method, and a turbulent model with effect of curvature modification was also derived. The numerical calculation of laminar and turbulent flows in divergent curved channels was carried out by means of parabolized computation method. The calculating results were used to analyze and investigate the aerodynamic performance of stator cascades in compressors preliminarily.

    Notizen: Abstract In this-paper, we discuss J-integrals near models I and II crack tips for the plates of linear-elastic isotropic homogeneous material and orthotropic composite material, using the theories of complex function and calculus, and obtain the result as follows: (1) The various J-integrals are transformed into standard form of line integrals with respect to coordinates: $$J = \int\limits_r {p(x,y)dx + Q(x,y)dy} $$ (2) Independence of path of the various J-integrals is proved. (3) Computing formulae of J-integrals are derived.

Meanwhile, the relation between stress intensity factor K I and displacement is also given in this paper. With sticking film moire interferometry method, the three-point bending beam is tested, thus the values of J-integral and K I can be obtained from the displacement field, and then the truth of relation formula between J-integral and K I in the orthotropic composite materials is experimentally verified.

    Notizen: Abstract By using a complex function method in this paper, the complex form of J-integral of mixed mode crack tip for unidirectional plate of linear-elastic orthotropic composites is obtained first by substituting crack tip stresses and displacements into general formula of J-integral. And then, the path-independence of this J-integral is proved. Finally, the computing formula of this J-integral is derived. As special examples, the complex forms, path-independence and computing formulae of J-integrals of mode I and mode II crack tips for unidirectional plate of linear-elastic orthotropic composites are given.
