Description: We demonstrate the abilities of various SEM techniques for domain imaging in PMN-PT crystals with different compositions. It is shown that the imaging of the chemically etched relief is limited by its destructivity and potential contrast – by low resolution and contrast instability. The optimal parameters of the imaging by backscattered electron channelling allow obtaining the high-resolution domain imaging in PMN-PT crystals. The domain structure change as a result of the phase transition are imaged. The correlation between the images of the surface domain structure obtained by scanning electron microscopy and piezoresponse force microscopy is demonstrated.

Description: Compressed air foam system (CAFS) had obvious advantages in engineering. The flow model of compressed air foam in the pipeline was different from water flow model because the foam was the gas-liquid two phase flow with non-Newtonian fluid properties and compressibility, and, the water supply theory was not suitable for foam press pipeline transport. At present, there was little research on non-Newtonian fluid flow, especially the foam flow. This study researched the effect of foam flux, end valve and foam type on the press in the straight pipe and bend. The press drop in straight pipes and bends filled with compressed air foam was analyzed, and the result could provide experimental support for theoretical calculation of compressed air foam in bend.

Description: Many aspects need to be taken into consideration in a regional grid while making schedule plans. In this paper, a systematic multi-time scale solution for regional power grid operation considering large scale renewable energy integration and Ultra High Voltage (UHV) power transmission is proposed. In the time scale aspect, we discuss the problem from month, week, day-ahead, within-day to day-behind, and the system also contains multiple generator types including thermal units, hydro-plants, wind turbines and pumped storage stations. The 9 subsystems of the scheduling system are described, and their functions and relationships are elaborated. The proposed system has been constructed in a provincial power grid in Central China, and the operation results further verified the effectiveness of the system.

Description: Patterning and displaying of photonic crystals are critical for building advanced photonic materials. We developed a monolayered colloidal crystal (MCC) based photonic material through a mask-assistant photo-polymerization process. Polystyrene (PS) nanoparticles were firstly assembled on the glass slide to form highly ordered MCC, this template is invisible and could diffract visible light when infiltrated by solvent. This reversibly displaying property was successfully maintained after the MCC was surrounding by a polymer layer via photo-polymerization, meanwhile a pattern could also be printed on the polymer with the help of a mask. Such photonic printing could be reversibly shown and hidden, revealing the colorful pattern was mainly due to the non-uniform cross-linking density of the polymer.

Description: Nanocrystalline NdFeB magnets were prepared by spark plasma sintering (SPS) and SPS followed by HD using melt spun ribbons as the starting materials. The microstructure of SPSed and HDed magnets were analyzed. The effects of process including temperature and compression ratio on the microstructure and properties were investigated. High magnetic properties were obtained in anisotropic HDed magnets. The combination of Zn and Dy additions was successfully employed to improve the coercivity and thermal stability of the SPSed magnets. Open recoil loops were found in these magnets with Nd-rich composition and without soft magnetic phase for the first time. The relationship between the recoil loops and microstructure for SPS and HD NdFeB magnets were investigated. The investigations showed that the magnetic properties of SPS+HDed magnets are related to the extent of the aggregation of Nd-rich phase, which was formed during HD due to existence of porosity in SPSed precursor. Description: Vane-type surface tension tanks are widely used as the propellant management devices in spacecrafts. This paper treats the two-phase flow inside a vane-type surface tension tank. The study indicates that the present numerical methods such as time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations, VOF model can reasonably predict the flow inside a propellant tank. It is clear that the vane geometry has important effects on transmission performance of the liquid. for a vane type propellant tank, the vane having larger width, folding angle, height of folded side and clearance is preferable if possible.

Description: The future power distribution system will play an important role in the future energy system - energy Internet. With an eye to the diversification of energy and power fusion to the distribution system form, the prospect of the future integrated power distribution system for energy Internet is proposed, from the three aspects of structure, equipment form and industrial form: a multi-level AC-DC ring network as a framework, including the P2P interconnection and DC information satisfied power grid integrated network structure, is given; the concept of energy exchanger, the concept of energy server is put forward, and on this basis, the future distribution system of the equipment is prospected; the future distribution of the three types of industrial forms is analysed.
