Summary Levels of lead, cadmium, nickel, and zinc were determined in feathers of 175 wild turkeys (Meleagris gallopava) shot by hunters in 19 Virginia counties in 2 physiographic regions. Lead and nickel levels did not vary by county, region, sex, or age. Zinc and cadmium levels were significantly (P〈0.01) higher in adult turkeys.
