Description:
Description:
Centro Control Contaminación del Pacífico has intruded in Colombia one of the quickest and exact techniques for the determination of height and position of the terrain, and the objects on it. It is as well as with a ALS40 system, airborne has begun the LiDAR data taking in Colombian Pacific Coast areas. The present work shows an methodology in which the capacity of penetration of the system is determined in the characteristic vegetation covering in La Viciosa and El Morro islands, with the objective of determining the influence of the vegetation covers in the signal of an airborne LiDAR and the quantity of real information of the ground that it is obtained and it is used for the elaboration of digital models. The study is based on the calculation and interpretation of the index of penetration of LiDAR in each identified type of vegetation in the area, starting from the number of points LiDAR corresponding as much to vegetation covering as to ground, and the application of a statistical analysis; that led to determine a low penetration grade in different vegetation coverings that are part of the study area.
