Description: Ichthyofauna was studied in the inshore waters around the Great Nicobar Island to assess the extent of biodiversity of fishery resources in the Great Nicobar waters by using various gears and crafts. During the present study, 258 species of fin fishes belonging to 141 genera, 84 families and 19 orders were recorded. Among these, Perciformes topped the list with 47 families, 84 genera and 169 species followed by Clupeiformes, Angulliformes, Tetrodoniformes, Cyprinodontiformes, Scorpaeniformes, Rajiformes, Elopiformes, Pleuronectiformes, Syluriformes, Laminiformes, Bercyformes, Aelopiformes, Syngathiformes and Gonorhychiformes which includes the medicinally important and ornamentally valuable species.

Notes: In the title compound, C5H12NO2+·ClO4−·C5H11NO2·H2O, the valine as a zwitterion and valinium are bonded through a strong O—H...O hydrogen bond. Their ammonium groups and the perchlorate ion are held together by hydrogen bonds. Both valine and valinium show gauche-II forms.

Notes: The crystal structure of the title compound, 2C9H12NO2+·SO42−·H2O, consists of two protonated phenylalaninium cations linked together by hydrogen bonding with the water molecule and the sulfate anion. The aggregation of the hydrophobic zone is along (10\overline 1) and of the hydrophilic zone is along (20\overline 2). The phenylalaninium molecules show sterically least favourable g+ or g− conformations.

Notes: In the title compound, 2C6H15N2O2+·H+·ClO4−·2Cl−, the two mono- and dicationic lysinium molecules are held together by strong O—H...O hydrogen bonds. Both the perchlorate and chloride anions link molecules 1 and 2 through the α-amino and ε-amino groups into infinite chains along the a axis. The aggregation of the hydrophilic groups is along the z = 0 plane and that of hydrophobic is along the z = 1 \over 4 plane. Molecule 1 is engaged in a zigzag (Z1) head-to-tail sequence.

Notes: In the title compound, C8H10NO2+·ClO4−, the phenylglycinium cation is linked to the perchlorate anion through a normal O—H...O [2.78 (2) Å] hydrogen bond. The phenylglycinium cation and perchlorate anion are also held together by N—H...O hydrogen bonds. Chelated three-centered hydrogen bonds are observed involving the amino-N atom and the perchlorate-O atoms. The molecular aggregation of the hydrophilic zone at z = 1 \over 4 is sandwiched between two hydrophobic zones.

Notes: In the title compound, 2C4H10NO3+·SO42−·H2O, both threoninium molecules have a gauche II form for the Cγ and gauche I form for the Oγ. The sulfate anion links the cation in an infinite manner through hydrogen bonds along the b and c axes. The two water molecules on the twofold axes link the sulfate groups and one of the cations.

Notes: In the title compound, C3H8O3N+·NO3−·C3H7O3N, the serinium and the serine as zwitterion are held together by a strong O—H...O hydrogen bond. The serinium cation has a gauche I conformation and the serine molecule has a gauche II conformation for the hydroxyl O atom. The nitrate anion links the amino N atom of molecule 1 extending in a chain running along the a axis.

Notes: In the title compound, 2 C5H12NO2S+·SO42−, the sulfate anions form strong hydrogen bonds with both the cations. A head-to-tail sequence is observed in both the molecules. The three sulfate anions on threefold axes link the amino-N atom through normal hydrogen bonds.
