    Notes: Safety designs and fracture designs are the two important fields of crack theory. The fracture problems of middle carbon steel under extra-low cycle rotating bending fatigue loading are studied in this paper. The experiments have been made in special rotating bending fatigue fracture machine designed by us. Several problems, the relations of the cycle times of fracture and the strain amplitude near notch tip to the deflection, the effects of depth and tip radius of notch to the cycle times of fracture, are discussed through the experiments. The mathematical expression of fracturetoughness to the cycle times of fracture is obtained. The suitable parameters of rotating bending fatigue fracture model for middle-carbon steel in extra-low cycle times has been proposed

    Notes: An anti-fatigued criterion of annularly breached shaft on mechanical design has been putforward, and the main factors that affect fatigue life of shaft are discussed. The interrelation of themain factors and the framework is founded. A new assessment method to fatigue life of shaft has beenput forward according to Corten-Dolan’s theory modified Miner's rule. The effect of supportingconditions to fatigue life of shaft is discussed and the influencing parameters are obtained. The resultsshow that the fatigue life of broad support in two sides is longer than that of narrow support in twosides. The results will establish the base of anti-fatigue design of shaft

    Notes: Balance for high speed motorized spindle is most important, it will influence the dynamic behavior of the high speed machine tools. In this paper, the GD-IV high speed spindle is introduced. In order to improve its balance accuracy, the step interference fit is developed to connect the rotor and the shaft. The interference fitted assembly has been modeled theoretically, the analysis highlights that the tolerance of the interference fit consists of the static section and dynamic section, the static section is determined by the transmitting torque while the dynamic section is determined by the centrifugal force. The Calculation of interference fit for the GD-IV spindle shows that the dynamic section is about 4.5 times larger than the static. Furthermore, the three dimensional model of the step interference fit between the shaft and the rotor has also been built up with finite element method and the stress distribution on the mating surface has been calculated. The results show that the maximum stress occurring near the chamfer region of the internal surface of the rotor is up to 235 MPa lower than the permissible material stress 278 MPa, so that the design of the step interference fit is reliability and safety

    Notes: The anti-fatigued design is an important field in product lifecycle management. A uniformcriterion of annularly breached spindle was put forward in this paper. The crack, V-notch, U-notchand arc were described as breach uniformly according to the tip radius, depth and field angle of breachin the method. The connection between sharp V-notch and crack, between V-notch and U-notch hasbeen set up. We fuse the fatigue fracture theory and life prediction techniques together on the designtechnology of lifecycle safety guarantee of mechanical structures. The relationship between life anddetectability of the breached spindle system was discussed to provide useful guidance for practicalapplications. The criterion for the safety design and fracture design both of which on fα was obtained.The criterion of annular breached spindle under torsion was obtained at first and then the effects ofbending to lifecycle of spindle were analyzed

    Notes: The application of regular blanking for brass under extra-low cycle rotating bending fatigue was studied. The experiments of rotating bending fatigue have been made in special equipment designed by us. Several problems, the relations of the cycle times of fracture, the strain amplitude near the tip of notch and fracture toughness of fatigue to the presetting deflection, the effects of depth and tip radius of notch to the cycle times of fracture, were discussed through the experiments.     Notes: A finite geometrically similar element method is proposed to determine the dynamicstress intensity factor. A group of geometrically similar elements is automatically generated layerby layer around the point of singularity. The large number of degrees of freedom around the tip ofsingularity is transformed to a small set of generalized coordinates by means of the series expansionformulas of the displacement field. By taking advantage of the same stiffness and similar mass ofsimilarly shaped elements, the combined stiffness matrix of super-element is obtained directly. Thesmall set of generalized coordinates can be obtained through solving the equation, and then thedynamic stress intensity factor of V-notch (crack) will be obtained. There are some advantages forthis method such as good adaptability, high precision and good convenience

And then the experiment of inverse rotating bending fatigue was made in special equipment designed by the authors. Several problems, i.e. the relations of the quantities such as cycle times of fracture, the strain amplitude near the notch tip and fracture toughness of fatigue to the presetting deflection, the effects of depth and tip radius of notch on the cycle times of fracture, were discussed with the helps of experiment. Finally, The relation of depth of crack propagation to cycle times were discussed also. The suitable parameters of inverse rotating bending fatigue for blanking of brass were obtained
