Cyclocondensation in the Three Compound System Bisphosphine/CCl4/Ammonia (Derivatives)In the presence of CCl4 bis(diphenylphosphino)methane reacts with ammonia under pressure via a four-centre mechanism to yield salt-like Ph2P(NH2)-N=P(CH3)Ph2]Cl. During the elucidation of this reaction a new cyclocondensation principle was found, which is realized by the conversion of 4- and 5-membered bisphosphines to the cyclic phosphonium salts 3-5, by treatment with carbontetrachloride and ammonia. - In a similar way three-membered bisphosphines and three-membered amino-imino compounds react with CCl4 to give neutral six-membered rings. Amino(imino)diphenylphosphorane is converted to the diazatriphosphorine 8, while amidines afford 6-organyl-2.2.4.4-tetraphenyl-1.5.2.4-diazadiphosphorines 9a-e in good yields. - The diazadiphosphorines are attacked at the methine group by electrophilic compounds. They react as typical ylides with acetylenedicarboxylic acid esters and p-nitrobenzaldehyde. Additional properties of the new heterocyclic compounds are given and their 1H n.m.r. spectra are discussed.
Notes:
