    Notes: Property of GFRP is naturally dependent on the property of matrix, but receives oftemperature effects by external force. Therefore, determination of mechanical property by effect oftemperature in GFRP is most crucial factor. In this paper, temperature distribution during crackpropagation from temperature change under tensile test was proposed through IR thermographycamera. Lock-in thermography method, which is one of technique in IR thermography camera tomeasure minute change in temperature, was utilized to monitor temperature distribution and changeduring crack propagation.     Notes: For measuring fiber content of GMT Sheet, moldings should be divided into specimens. And then by burning this specimen, we can get remaining glass fiber ratio. This remaining glass fiber ratio is regarded as fiber content and this process is called 'burning method'. This method yields high value but it can destroy the molding. So any standard method in fiber content measurements isn't established yet. An experimental method is proposed which can be used to measure the fiber contentof compression molded glass mat reinforced thermoplastic sheet by image processing. Therefore to predict the fiber content may be useful for determination of optimum molding conditions, charge pattern etc. so far, the burning method has been used for measuring fiber content of glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic sheet. Then the burning method is precise but breaks the material sheet. In this study, the soft X-pray photograph intensity of the sheet is measured using the image scanner, and the intensity information is worked out by personal computer. We suggested image processing method which can be used to nondestructively measure GMT-Sheet's fiber content. And fiber content measured by image processing method agree well with the one by the burning method. If GMT-Sheet is thick and fiber content is high, fibers overlapped, then photographing soft x-ray is impossible, so the measurements of exact fiber content is difficult

    Notes: Measurement of fiber orientation distribution state is very important constituent to find outdecision of processing condition of product or mechanical special quality of moldings in fiberreinforced polymer composite material. Therefore, reliable measurement method of fiber orientationangle distribution is established, and need researcher about simplicity measuring method urgently thenondestructiveness. In this research, to investigate about accuracy of fiber orientation angledistribution measurement of fiber reinforced composite material by intensity method, find fiberorientation function value that is measure of fiber orientation distribution state constructing fiberorientation simulation picture by plotter changing diameter and length and orientation state of fiber.Recognize this fiber orientation simulation picture by image scanner, and measure fiber orientationangle distribution state by this realized intensity information. This time, I wish to measure reliablefiber orientation angle distribution comparing fiber orientation function calculation value saving inthe advance with fiber orientation function value that is measured by intensity method. The resultsshow that measurement accuracy of the fiber orientation angle distribution by intensity method isaffected by the fiber aspect ratio when the total length of oriented fiber is same. The average gradientof fiber orientation function is 0.94 for 1000mm of the total fiber length and is 0.93 for 2000mm whenthe fiber aspect ratio is over 50. Measurement accuracy by intensity method is about 94% and thereliable data can be obtained by intensity method

    Notes: Because of orientation and separation, injection molded products are heterogeneous andanisotropic. These heterogeneousness and anisotropy have a vast influence on mechanical propertiesof molding material and product characteristics. It is well known that fiber orientation state infiber-reinforced polymeric composite has a profound effect on dynamic qualities like intensity,rigidity, and etc. To measure the fiber orientation of injection molded product's weld part, we firstX-rayed moldings and recognized this photo by using an image scanner. Then, image processingmethod, which uses intensity difference in measuring fiber orientation state, is applied. Through theseprocedures, we can analyze the influence of molding's fiber orientation state according to mold gatechanges. Fiber orientation is related mainly with the mold gate positions than with fiber content ormold temperature. When the distance from the gate increases, by matrix and reinforcement's flowspeed differences, fiber orientation occurred. As diversion flow occurred at the end of fluid flow, fiberoriented at a right angle to the flow, and this is the same effect of weld line formation

We studied the effect the fiber orientation distribution has on tensile strength of fiber reinforced polymeric composite material and achieved this results below. We can say that the increasing range of the value of fiber reinforced polymeric composite’s tensile strength in the direction of fiber orientation is getting wider as the fiber content ratio increases. It shows that the value of fiber reinforced polymeric composite’s tensile strength in the direction of fiber orientation 90° is similar with the value of polypropylene’s intensity when fiber orientation function is J= 0.7, regardless of the fiber content ratio. Tensile strength of fiber reinforced polymeric composite is affected by the fiber orientation distribution more than by the fiber content ratio

    Notes: While mold fiber reinforced composite material to problem of occasion that hightemperature compression molding, flow length in mold is overlong or when flow meets withresistance in side of mold, fiber orientation happens and big change occurs in strength or quality.Thus, in compression molding that use fiber reinforced composite material, orientation state of fiberin moldings is the most basic element that quotes various properties of matter values. Therefore, toclear orientation state of fiber establishing measurement of fiber orientation angle distribution is veryimportant while give correction of molding condition decision, mechanical quality of moldings andguide about material design. In the study, the fiber orientation distribution of simulation figure plottedby PC is measured using image processing in order to examine the accuracy of intersection countingmethod. The fiber orientation function measured by intersection counting method using imageprocessing is compared with the calculated fiber orientation function. The results show that themeasured value of fiber orientation function using intersection counting method is lower than thecalculated value, because the number of intersection between the scanning line and the fiber withsmaller fiber aspect ratio is counted less than with larger fiber aspect ratio
