Abstract Metal and metal-free polymeric phthalocyanine were synthesized from 3,3′,4,4′-benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride. The electrical conductivity of these polymers was measured at temperatures ranging from 25 to 350 °C, and the thermal activation energy of conduction was calculated from the Arrhenius relation. The magnetic susceptibility of these polymers under low temperatures was examined by superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) techniques.
