Notes:
A new sensor has been developed for measuring thermal conductivity in liquid metal by transient hot wire method. A wire, which is formed in a thin alumina plate, was used for observing temperature rise of the wire, when a constant input power was applied to it. With this sensor, thermal conductivity for mercury in liquid state was measured at room temperature: 0.0918 W/cm/K. The result was in good agreement with reported values.
