The Structure of the Lewis Acid Adducts of 5-Oxo-1,3λ4,2,4-dithiadiazole (S2N2CO) by Example of the AsF5 AdductThe synthesis and the X-ray structure analysis of the 1:1 adduct of S2N2CO (2) and the Lewis acid AsF5 is described. S2N2CO —AsF5 (1) crystallizes in the space group P21/c. The planar five membered ring of 2 is bound via the exocyclic oxygen of the C=O group to an octahedrally coordinated As atom. The As-O bond distance is 187.9 pm. The influence of the adduct formation on the bonding relationships in 1 is discussed by comparison with the free 2 and one of its derivatives. Comparison of IR spectra of 1 and other 1:1 and 2:1 adducts of 2 with Lewis acids shows, that there complexation is always formed via the oxygen atom.
Notes:
