Notes: Abstract The rapidity distributions of inclusive π+ p → π−,K 0, Λ0 andK * (892) atP 1ab=16 GeV/c of CERN experiments, are analyzed using the covariant partition temperatureT p model. In the fireball system, apart fromK * (892),T p * 〈m, no indication of thermal equilibrium, the average momentum $$\sqrt {3mT_p^* }$$ ofK 0 andΛ 0 being approximately equal and in the opposite direction, the entropy density is practically the same forK 0 andΛ 0 but less than that of π−. It is found that the principle of equipartition holds rather for the momenta of π,K, and Λ in the fireball system.

    Notes: Abstract The rapidity distributions of inclusive $$e^ + e^ - \to h\bar h + \cdot \cdot \cdot$$ of PEP and DESY experiments are analyzed in terms of the covariant partition temperatureT p model. The estimates ofT p * in the fireball system are comparable to the conventional temperature, the energy dependence follows approximately Stefan's law, the radius of the specific volume ralative to the energy density being ∼1.18 fm. In the c.m.s. of collision, $$T_p = AW^a (W = \sqrt s in GeV)$$ witha=0.60±0.05 andA=0.256±0.006, it is found $$T_p \cong {W \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {W {\tfrac{3}{2}\left\langle {n_ \pm } \right\rangle }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\tfrac{3}{2}\left\langle {n_ \pm } \right\rangle }}$$ . These properties hold also for $$\bar pp$$ collision, but not forpp→π−+...

Notes: Abstract The production of vector mesons ϕ,J/ψ and ϒ frompp collisions are investigated together with655-1 andK 0, assuming the same rest-frame for all secondaries, based on the Feynman-Yang scaling. It is found that the process behaves like the bremsstrahlung. No-free-parameters fits to the cross-sections are made with the normalization coefficients related to the quark contents of secondaries. Thep-nucleus production analyzed in terms of the optical model leads the same eikonal, characteristic of the absorption for ϕ,J/ψ and ϒ, independent of the energy.

Notes: Abstract The unflavored hadrons frome + e − annihilation in the $$\Upsilon (b\bar b)$$ -continuum are analyzed in terms of the covariant Boltzmann distribution with an equilibrium temperature 151 MeV according to the Stefan's law. It is found that the effective fugacities of quark contents are approximately equal to the reciprocals of those from othere + e − annihilations outside the γ-continuum, whereas the fireballs are practically stationary, reflecting the decay at rest of $$B\bar B$$ mesons produced by thee + e − annihilation.

Notes: Abstract The limiting temperatureT 0 of secondaries from $$pp/\bar pp$$ collisions is estimated on the basis of the Lorentz contraction factor, to be compared with the critical temperatureT c determined by the specific heat. It is found, in terms of the critical exponent law,T 0≈T c ≈215 MeV for π− andK 0.

Notes: Abstract The characteristic features of pseudorapidity distributions of hadron production are investigated in terms of a geometrical parameterh≡(dn/dη)0/Φ, Φ being the phase space covered by the η distribution. It is found thath is about the same for the heavy-ion (HI) andpp collisions at the same energy, the same for π andK production and behaves ash∼E cm −1/3 . This similarity property yieldsK −/π−=0.041±0.004 andK +/K −=4.5±0.6 for HI collisions at 14.6 GeV/A in agreement with BNL experiments.

Notes: Abstract The temperatureT of hadrons frome + e − annihilation is analyzed using the SPEAR and the PLUTO data. Thermal equilibrium is found for π,K and ρ andT∼E c.m α with α=0.31±0.05. A discussion is given on the equipartition of energy between broad resonances and particles from their strong decay, and its application to estimate the quark mass difference:m s−mu=0.11 andm c−mu=1.60 GeV.

Notes: Abstract The rest-frame of secondaries frompp collisions determined by the covariant Boltzmann factor is found to be independent of the massm of the secondary. In this frame, the hadron production behaves like bremsstrahlung:n(m)∼W * (m)/m 2,W * (m) being the available energy. This multiplicity law fitsp+p→m+⋯ at 400 GeV/c of NA 27 Collaboration without free-parameters. Extended top-nucleus and heavy-ion collisions, assuming a mean-free-path of collision between the incident and the target nucleon to be ∼2.80 fm and 1.63 fm respectively, it accounts forn(K −) and $$n(\bar \Lambda )$$ of CERN-SPS experiments and theK −/π− ratio of BNL experiments.

Notes: Abstract Production of strange and charm particles by hadron-proton collisions is analyzed in terms of a fire-ball (FB) model assuming the multiplicity of secondaries of a given massm, to be proportional to the FB mass: 〈n〉∼α(m)M *, the FB kinematics being determined by the Feynman-Yang scaling, as in the case of π production. It is found that α(m)∼1/m 2 and that, using this property together with the scaling, no-free-parameter fits to currently available data of strange and charm particles frompp and πp collisions are satisfactory, as well as for the photoproduction of charm mesonD and charm hyperonΛ c .

Notes: Abstract An analysis of secondary hadrons fromZ 0 (91) decays of the LEP experiments indicates that the scaling of $$x = 2P/\sqrt s $$ distributions implies the same temperatureT=0.261 GeV for all the secondaries. The multiplicities ofZ 0→π,K 0, η,...Ξ, and Ω computed with their quark contents and the sameT agree with the data. The ratio of $$\left( {\frac{1}{N}\frac{{dn}}{{dy}}} \right)_0 $$ to the phase-space covered by the rapidity distribution, depends only on the energy, $$ \sim 1/E_{cm}^{{1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 3}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 3}} $$ , fore + e − annihilations and $$\bar p/p + p$$ collisions as well.
