Conclusions 1. Using the chemical shifts of the Kα1 x-ray lines of Ag and the method of layerwise solution, the authors have investigated the reaction kinetics of the products of sorption of gallium by silver sulfide with a twofold excess of gallium in solution in relation to the stoichiometry. 2. In the initial stage of sorption of gallium by silver sulfide, two forms appear: the primary form, 2Ag2S · Ga2S3, and the final form, Ag4Ga2S5. 3. If the solid phase is in contact with the solution, the primary form is converted to the stable final form within 32 h.
