Beschreibung: This paper proposes high-accuracy and reliable attitude measurement methods exclusive for CubeSat with restrictions of low cost, limited space, and low power consumption. The attitude measurement unit is equipped with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components including Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) gyro and two simultaneously operating star trackers (STR) to enhance the measurement accuracy. The Multiplicative Extended Kalman Filter (MEKF) is used to estimate the attitude of CubeSat, and four kinds of attitude estimation layouts are put forward according to the idea of weighted average of two quaternions from two STR and different architectures of information fusion. Using the proposed methods, the attitude measurement unit can continuously provide accurate and reliable attitude knowledge for attitude control unit when the CubeSat is running in orbit. Numerical simulation is performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods, and it offers a reference for CubeSat developers from the perspective of engineering application.

Beschreibung: International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2019. 〈br/〉Vehicular ad hoc networks have emerged as a promising approach to increasing road safety and efficiency. Vehicles periodically broadcast traffic-related status messages. Message authentication is a common way for ensuring information reliability, but it is an unaffordable computational cost for single vehicle. In this article, we propose an efficient cooperative message authentication based on reputation mechanism. In the proposed scheme, reputation model is used to assess authentication efforts of vehicles, which enhances initiative for cooperative message authentication and inhabits selfish behavior; sequence optimization algorithm solves messages overflowing on condition limited computation of onboard unit and improves the speed of message authentication at the premise of ensuring the reliability of message authentication. Simulation results show that our scheme presents a nice performance of authentication efficiency, packet loss ratio, and missing detection ratio.

Beschreibung: An open slot antenna with extended bandwidth for WLAN and UWB applications is proposed. The radiating structure is composed of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna exciting an L-shaped slot etched on the ground plane. The feed position is optimized to get better impedance match for the higher range of the UWB spectrum, while a step in the slot, realized in the ground plane, is employed to extend the lower limit of the bandwidth so as to cover the 2.4 GHz WLAN frequency band. Using these design solutions the antenna bandwidth is successfully extended to 140% so as to cover both the WLAN and the UWB spectrum.

Beschreibung: Industrial manipulators are widely used in the manufacture of products due to their high flexibility and low costs. High absolute positioning accuracy is the key to guarantee the product quality, which is commonly improved through the error compensation technology. Due to the variety, complexity, and unpredictability of the error sources, the influence of the nongeometric errors on the absolute positioning accuracy of manipulators is uncertain. In result, the existing error compensation methods are difficult to obtain satisfying results, especially for manipulators with large joint flexibility that need to work in different task scenarios. In this paper, an artificial neural network- (ANN-) based precision compensation method via optimization of point selection is proposed, which deals with the kinematic errors and joint stiffness errors in different task scenarios. Firstly, the quasi-random sequence (QRS) method and the product of exponentials (POE) model are combined to identify and compensate the geometric parameters. The QRS method can select points evenly in the workspace. And the POE model can avoid the singularity problem of Denavit–Hartenberg (DH) model. Secondly, a continuous joint stiffness compensation model in the whole workspace is established through ANN. In order to get better compensation results for the current task scenario, the point selection method based on trajectory similarity is adopted to determine the training data of ANN. Finally, the experiments are conducted on a 6-DOF industrial manipulator to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. The results show that the ANN-based method via optimization of point selection could be an effective solution for the precision compensation.

Beschreibung: It is difficult to carry out petrophysical experiments because of the serious damage caused to cores in the development of fractures and pores in carbonate reservoirs. The development of a three-dimensional digital core in carbonate reservoirs has become a hot topic in rock physics research. Compared with the three-dimensional digital core, including basic rock skeletons and pores in sandstone reservoirs, carbonate reservoirs also include secondary structures such as microfractures. The carbonate contains different components, and extracting these components is a very difficult problem. The resolution on the electrical image log image is high, which can clearly reflect the macrocomponents in various reservoirs. There are some blank areas between electrodes on the electrical image log, which affects the extraction of components in a three-dimensional digital core. Aiming at the serious heterogeneities in the carbonate reservoirs and affecting image inpainting on the electrical image log image, a new method of image inpainting based on a combination of multipoint geostatistics and an interpolation method is put forward. The experimental results show that this method generates faster and better full-bore images than other methods. Due to the multipeak histogram, the maximum interclass variance in the two times method is proposed to extract macrocomponents such as basic rock skeletons, pores, and connected parts. The microfractures can be extracted from the CT scanned images by using image segmentation from the combination of the watershed and OTSU methods. The experimental results prove that using extraction methods for different components enables better results to be obtained.

Beschreibung: The objective of this research is to optimize the Alpha approximation model for soil moisture retrieval using multitemporal SAR data. The Alpha model requires prior knowledge of soil moisture range to constrain soil moisture estimation. The solution of the Alpha model is an undetermined problem due to the fact that the number of observation equations is less than the number of unknown parameters. This research primarily focused on the optimization of Alpha model by employing multisensor and multitemporal SAR data. The disadvantage of the Alpha model can be eliminated by the combination of multisensor SAR data. The optimized Alpha model was evaluated on the basis of a comprehensive campaign for soil moisture retrieval, which acquired multisensor time series SAR data and coincident field measurements. The agreement between the estimated and measured soil moisture was within a root mean square error of 0.08 cm3/cm3 for both methods. The optimized Alpha model shows an obvious improvement for soil moisture retrieval. The results demonstrated that multisensor and multitemporal SAR data are favorable for time series soil moisture retrieval over bare agricultural areas.

Beschreibung: Long-term evolution advanced (LTE-A) systems will offer better service to users by applying advanced physical layer transmission techniques and utilizing wider bandwidth. To further improve service quality, low power nodes are overlaid within a macro network, creating what is referred to as a heterogeneous network. However, load imbalance among cells often decreases the network resource utilization ratio and consequently reduces the user experience level. Load balancing (LB) is an indispensable function in LTE-A self-organized network (SON) to efficiently accommodate the imbalance in traffic. In this paper, we firstly evaluate the negative impact of unbalanced load among cells through Markovian model. Secondly, we formulate LB as an optimization problem which is solved using network flow approach. Furthermore, a novel algorithm named optimal solution-based LB (OSLB) is proposed. The proposed OSLB algorithm is shown to be effective in providing up to 20% gain in load distribution index (LDI) by a system-level simulation.

Beschreibung: In this paper an advanced method for the navigation system correction of a spacecraft using an error prediction model of the system is proposed. Measuring complexes have been applied to determine the parameters of a spacecraft and the processing of signals from multiple measurement systems is carried out. Under the condition of interference in flight, when the signals of external system (such as GPS) disappear, the correction of navigation system in autonomous mode is considered to be performed using an error prediction model. A modified Volterra neural network based on the self-organization algorithm is proposed in order to build the prediction model, and the modification of algorithm indicates speeding up the neural network. Also, three approaches for accelerating the neural network have been developed; two examples of the sequential and parallel implementation speed of the system are presented by using the improved algorithm. In addition, simulation for a returning spacecraft to atmosphere is performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for correction of navigation system.

Beschreibung: This paper presents a preliminary study of the dynamic performance of a novel light-weight auxetic (negative Poisson’s ratio) cellular vibration isolation base constituted by reentrant hexagonal honeycombs. Numerical and experimental analyses were conducted to reveal the effects of Poisson’s ratio (cell angle) and relative density (cell thickness) of these reentrant honeycombs on the dynamic performance of this novel base and to propose design guidelines for the best use of the auxetic cellular vibration isolation system. By doing numerical analysis, we found that, by decreasing the relative density of reentrant honeycombs and increasing Poisson’s ratio of them, excellent vibration isolation performance of the auxetic cellular base will be achieved. This analysis was followed by static, modal, and frequency response tests, which verified the results of the numerical analysis.
