Vinylchloride was grafted onto low-density polyethylene (PE-ND). The graft copolymer was characterized by light scattering. Dehalogenating dehydration resulted in polyethylene containing a defined higher number of long-chain branches than the backbone polyethylene of the graft copolymer. The intrinsic viscosity of the model polyethylene was determined at various values of molecular weight and contraction factors are calculated.

Auf Polyethylen niederer Dichte (PE-ND) wurde Vinylchlorid aufgepfropft. Das Pfropfcopolymer wird durch Lichtstreuung charakterisiert. Nach dehalogenierender Hydrierung wird ein Polyethylen erhalten, das gegenüber dem Rückgratpolyethylen des Pfropfcopolymers eine um einen bekannten Wert erhöhte Zahl von langen Seitenästen enthält. Grenzviskositäten des Polyethylenmodells werden bei verschiedenen Molmassen bestimmt und Kontraktionsfaktoren berechnet.
