Description / Table of Contents:
Summary The determination of phosphate ions in different waters with IC-AAS is described. It is necessary to prepare the samples (filtering, CO2-exhausting) before analyzing. The water flows through a “Collector-Column”. Diluted hydrochloric acid is used as eluent for phosphate. Ion chromatograms are available by recording the calcium absorption (422,7 nm). Polyphosphate and organic bonded phosphate in waste water is hydrolyzed with 0.01M hydrochloric acid at increased pressure (1,1 bar) and temperature (121° C). The results are in good accordance with those from standard methods.
Notes:
