    Description / Table of Contents: Die Hompolymerisation von Salicyloylchlorid wurde in Nitrobenzol durchgeführt, um Poly(o-phenylencarboxylate) zu erhalten. Die erhaltenen Polyester gingen im Gegensatz zu Literaturberichten keine Friessche Verschiebung ein, als sie mit Friedel-Crafts-Katalysatoren behandelt wurden. Die erhaltenen Polyester waren in üblichen organischen Lösungsmitteln unlöslich. Sie wurden mittels IR-Spektroskopie, Viskositätsuntersuchung und Thermoanalyse charakterisiert. Aus den DTA-Messungen wurden kinetische Parameter ermittelt.
    Notes: The homopolycondensation of salicyloyl chloride was carried out in presence of nitrobenzene as a solvent to prepare poly(o-phenylene carboxylates). The resulting polyesters when treated with Friedel-Crafts catalyst do not undergo Fries migration. This is contrary to reported investigations. The synthesized polyesters were insoluble in common organic solvents and are characterized by IR, viscosity study and thermal analysis. Kinetic parameters are evaluated from DTA traces.

    Description / Table of Contents: Neuartige Polyketoamine, als Poly(4-iminophenacyle) bezeichnet, wurden unter verschiedenen experimentellen Bedingungen durch Selbst-Polykondensation von 4-Aminophenacylchlorid hergestellt. Die Polymeren sind in gewöhnlichen Lösungsmitteln unlöslich. Die zahlenmittleren Molekulargewichte der Polymeren wurden durch konduktometrische Titration einer Suspension der Polymeren in Ameisensäure gegen eine Standard-Perchlorsäure bestimmt. Die Polymerproben wurden über ihre IR-Spektren im Vergleich zu denen wahrscheinlicher Modellsubstanzen und durch differentialthermogravimetrische Analyse charakterisiert.
    Notes: Novel poly(keto-amines), designated as poly(4-iminophenacyls) are prepared by self polycondensation of 4-aminophenacyl chloride under different experimental conditions. These polymers are insoluble in common solvents. The number average molecular weights of the polymer samples have been estimated by conductometric titration of a suspension of the polymer sample in formic acid against a standard perchloric acid. The polymer samples have been characterized by a comparative study of their IR spectra with those of the probable model compounds and by differential thermogravimetric analysis.

Alle Polymere sind unlöslich in gewöhnlichen organischen Lösungsmitteln. Sie Wurden durch Elementaranalyse, IR-spektroskopische Studien, Bestimmung von M̄n durch nichtwäßrige konduktometrische Titration und Studien der thermischen Eigenschaften durch DTA charakterisiert. Die Eigenschaften von P4M3IP und P2M4IP wurden mit denen von Poly(4-iminophenacylen) verglichen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Polyphenylcarboxylat und die entsprechenden Copolyester wurden durch Homo-polycondensation von m- und p-Hydroxybenzoylchlorid bzw. durch Kondensation einer Mischung aus den Chloriden der o- und p-Hydroxybenzoesäure hergestellt. Diese Polyester, die keine Fries-Umlagergung eingehen, wurden durch Behandeln mit heißer wäßriger Säure zu Säuremonomeren hydrolysiert. Die Copolyester wurden charakterisiert und mit den entsprechenden Hompolyestern verglichen.
    Notes: Poly(phenylene carboxylate) and the corresponding copolyesters were prepared respectively by homopolycondensation of m- and p-hydroxybenzoyl chlorides and by condensation of a mixture of acid chlorides of ortho- and para-hydroxy benzoic acids. These polyesters which did not undergo Fries rearrangement were hydroyzed to acid monomers on treatment with hot aqueous acid solution. The copolyesters were characterized and compared with the corresponding homopolyesters.
