Primary, secondary and tertiary amines were used along or in combination with potassium hydroxide and sodium ethylate, respectively, as decomposition agents for the chemical solubilization of PDMS networks. The cleavage of bonds takes place at the junctions as well as in the chains between the junction points. The amount of decomposition products and their molecular weights were determined in dependence of reaction time. The activation energies of the solubilization process were calculated. The addition of bases to the amines promotes the decomposition reaction.

Primäre, sekundäre und tertiäre Amine wurden allein oder in Kombination mit Kaliumhydroxid bzw. Natriumethylat als Spaltagens für die chemische Zersetzung von PDMS-Netzwerken eingesetzt. Die Bindungsspaltung findet sowohl im Netzknoten als auch an den Netzkettengliedern statt. Der Anteil der Spaltprodukte in Abhängigkeit von der Reaktionszeit sowie die Änderung der Molmasse wurden bestimmt. Die Aktivierungsenergien für den Spaltprozeß wurden ermittelt. Durch den Zusatz von Basen wird die Abbaureaktion beschleunigt.
