    Description: During RV Maria S. Merian cruise MSM71 refraction and wide-angle reflection seismic data were acquired. We present profile P02 consisting of 15 seismic record sections (seg-y format) of the hydrophone components from three ocean bottom hydrophones (OBH204, OBH208, OBH212) and twelf ocean bottom seismometers (OBS201 - OBS203, OBS205-OBS207, OBS209-OBS211, OBS213-OBS215) along the SW-NE oriented seismic profile MSM71-P02, which is situated in the centre of the Ligurian Basin. The profile stretches over a distance of 127 km and was shot using an airgun array of six G-gun clusters with a total volume of 84 l (5440 cu in) at 190 bar. A total of 1079 shots were fired every 60 s (~123 m) with an airgun towed behind the vessel in a depth of 8 m. Data are unprocessed, however, they are corrected for instrument drift along the profile using the symmetry of the direct arrival and the data are time corrected.

    Description: Upper-ocean velocities along the cruise track of Sonne cruise SO288 were continuously collected by a vessel-mounted Teledyne RD Instruments 75 kHz Ocean Surveyor ADCP. The transducer was located at 6.0 m below the water line. The instrument was operated in narrowband mode with 8 m bins and a blanking distance of 8.0 m, while 100 bins were recorded using a pulse of 1.45 s. The ship's velocity was calculated from position fixes obtained by the Global Positioning System (GPS). Heading, pitch and roll data from the ship's gyro platforms and the navigation data were used by the data acquisition software VmDas internally to convert ADCP velocities into earth coordinates. Accuracy of the ADCP velocities mainly depends on the quality of the position fixes and the ship's heading data. Further errors stem from a misalignment of the transducer with the ship's centerline. Data post-processing included water track calibration of the misalignment angle (-0.04° +/- 1.1923°) and scale factor (1.0023 +/- 0.0230) of the Ocean Surveyor signal. The average interval was set to 120 s. Velocity quality flagging is based on following threshold criteria: abs(UC) or abs(VC) 〉 1.5 m/s, rms(UC_z) or rms(VC_z) 〉 0.3.

    Description: Underway temperature and salinity data was collected along the cruise track with two autonomous measurement systems, called self-cleaning monitoring boxes (SMBs). Usually, the SMBs are changed after ~12 hours. While temperature is taken at the water inlet in about 4 m depth, salinity is estimated within the SMB from conductivity and interior temperature. No temperature and salinity calibration were performed. For details to all processing steps see Data Processing Report.

    Description: Multibeam bathymetry raw data was recorded in the Pacific during cruise SO267 that took place between 2018-12-11 and 2019-01-26. The data was collected using the ship's own Kongsberg EM 122. Sound velocity profiles (SVP) were applied on the data for calibration. SVP data are part of this dataset publication. This data is part of the DAM (German Marine Research Alliance) underway research data project.

    Description: This dataset includes earthquake locations from a 23 months long Ocean Bottom Seismometer (OBS) experiment conducted in response to the 2014 Mw 8.1 Iquique earthquake at the northern Chilean subduction zone. The experiment is separated into two subsequent OBS networks from December 2014 until October 2016. The accompanying zip-file SEISAN_WAV.zip includes raw waveform data for all earthquakes, the file Nordic.nor (ASCII Table) that includes all phase onset picks of all earthquakes. All data in the zipped archives can be used with the SEISAN seismology software.

    Description: Raw data acquired by position sensors on board RV SONNE during expedition SO288 were processed to receive a validated master track which can be used as reference of further expedition data. During SO288 the motion reference unit Kongsberg SeaTex AS MRU-5 combined with Kongsberg SeaTex AS Seapath 320 and two GPS receivers SAAB MGL-4 were used as navigation sensors. Data were downloaded from DAVIS SHIP data base (https://dship.bsh.de) with a resolution of 1 sec. Processing and evaluation of the data is outlined in the data processing report. Processed data are provided as a master track with 1 sec resolution derived from the position sensors' data selected by priority and a generalized track with a reduced set of the most significant positions of the master track.

    Description: The dataset contains ocean bottom hydrophone data acquired on profile P02 during RV Sonne Expedition SO267 (project ARCHIMEDES I) to the Lau Basin, Southwestern Pacific. 27 OBS recorded the seismic survey successfully and returned data for the two consecutively performed acquisitions, once with a 50m shot interval and once with a 170m shot interval. The stations 207, 215 and 229 suffered from recorder errors, which prevented or interfered with the redording of data and thus their analysis.
